Santes Dwynwen’s Weekend Friday 25th and Saturday 26th January 2008
Santes Dwynwen, the patron saint of Welsh lovers, met a very tragic end in the 5th century. Having been forbidden to marry her love Prince Maelon, she begged God to make her forget him. An angel visited her and gave her a potion to erase all memory of the prince and turn him into a block of ice. God then granted her three wishes – the first she used to thaw Prince Maelon, the second that God would meet the hopes and dreams of true lovers and the third that she should never have to marry. All three wishes were fulfilled and Dwynwen devoted the rest of her life to the service of God.
We have a very special break to celebrate true love and Santes Dwynwen’s Day. A delicious dinner on Friday; Champagne reception and romantic dinner on Saturday, full Welsh breakfast both mornings and one or two surprises along the way – in fact we will provide all the romantic extras – the rest is up to you!
At just £188 per person for the weekend, this is a truly romantic gift to share with your loved one. Rate based on two people sharing a double/twin – of course!
St Valentine’s Day Thursday 14th February 2008
Another tragic tale, dating back, so it is said, to the Roman Empire. Under the rule of Claudius II, Rome was involved in many bloody and unpopular wars and not surprisingly, found it extremely difficult to recruit soldiers for his military campaigns. He believed that the reason men were so reluctant to fight was because they didn’t want to leave their loved ones for years on end and perhaps never to see them again. Consequently, he cancelled all marriages and engagements but the kindly St Valentine continued to aid the Christian martyrs by secretly marrying couples but he was caught and suffered a very grisly death on 14th February about the year 270.
We remember St Valentine’s bravery and would like to offer romantics everywhere the chance to celebrate in style with a romantic evening to include dinner with coffee and petit fours, flowers, chocolates and champagne – in fact all you would expect on the second most romantic night of the year – all for just £39.95 per person. To make the evening more memorable, we are offering room and full Welsh breakfast at only £40 per person in any room, based on two people sharing a twin/double. You are welcome to add on extra days at Refresher rates.
St David’s Day – Weekend Break Friday 29th and Saturday 1st March

A definite Welsh flavour to the delicious and imaginative cuisine using only the best of fresh local produce in the wonderful four-course dinners; a superb range of Welsh wine, spirits and liquors; soft tones of Welsh music to accompany you at dinner on Saturday and hearty breakfasts both mornings – you simply can’t fail to savour every moment – at just £188 per person for the weekend in any one of our well appointed rooms, we recommend that you make your reservation early! Rates based on two people sharing a twin/double room and subject to availability.
