The Ffestiniog Railway is the oldest independent railway company in the world having been incorporated in 1832. It runs for 22km (13½ miles) from Porthmadog to the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, through the ever-changing scenery of the Snowdonia National Park. It's little trains, hauled by unique locomotives, some dating from the 1860's, combine the historic romance of steam with the comfort and convenience of modern rolling stock, offering the added benefit of heated carriages during the winter months.

Now parties can enjoy a ride on this historic train, accompanied by the finest cuisine. Private trains or Carriages can be reserved through the hotel to allow groups to enjoy both the experience and the scenery of this historic train line and the fine cuisine from our own famous kitchen.

Charters are ideal for all kinds of occasion, day or evening, throughout the year. Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries Corporate Events or any Private Function, in fact any celebration. Groups should be of between 10 - 100 guests, and extras could include live music, excursions or others activities, or of course accommodation at our own exclusive hotel. Trains can also be decorated to suit any event.
